Welcome to Ealing

We all know what we want to achieve as Social Workers and as managers, we just need to get rid of the barriers. Easier said than done. But, by lightening the workload and making sure that everyone, at every level, wants to achieve the same things, we’ve made serious progress. We’re a four star Council and have won numerous awards including the Local Government Chronicle Best Children's Services Award 2008, the Municipal Journal Award for Best Achieving Council 2009 and the Children and Young People Now Awards 2009 for Best Corporate Parent, Youth Work Award and Council of the Year awards.

Have a look around the site, view our videos and get a real feeling for what it’s like here. We’re not going to promise the world, but we can promise that you’ll be joining a team that has total support from the whole authority to build better futures for children and young people in Ealing.

Judith Finlay - video profile

Spanning the inner city and outer suburbs and home to 306,000 people, Ealing is the third largest borough in London. It’s also the third most diverse with 34% of the population under the age of 24. 70% of children and young people are from black and minority ethnic backgrounds.

This includes well established Asian, Caribbean and African communities as well as growing Somali, Eastern European and asylum seeking families. Its diversity makes Ealing a lively, multi-cultural and exciting place that is reflected in the schools, businesses, shops and restaurants across the borough.
